GERLING GARDEN close to full occupancy of office space

Another tenant for GERLING GARDEN: The newly developed, listed neighbourhood in Cologne city centre has found another tenant and is now almost fully let. YPOG, a law firm specialising in tax and commercial law, will move into approximately 4,000 m2 of office space in the modern GERLING GARDEN office complex in 2025.

Cologne, 11/10/2023 | Shortly after the successful topping-out ceremony, the GERLING GARDEN inner-city quarter in the heart of Cologne has reached another milestone: the joint venture between PROXIMUS and Quantum has secured the law firm YPOG as a tenant. YPOG, one of Germany's leading addresses for venture capital, private equity and fund structuring, has signed a long-term lease for approximately 4,000 square metres of office space. The move into the new space is planned for mid-2025. Following the Kirchliche Zusatzversorgungskasse (KZVK) leasing a good 9,000 m² of office space at the beginning of the year, the latest letting means that almost all of the office space in the city centre district is now leased.

On the former Gerling Insurance site in a central location in Cologne's city centre, a modern building complex comprising offices, retail, hotel and restaurants is being built on a gross floor area of around 45,000 m². In addition to the YPOG law firm and the Kirchliche Zusatzversorgungskasse (Church Supplementary Pension Fund), the 207-room ‘25hours Hotel THE CIRCLE’ also successfully opened its doors on the site in 2018.

Birgit Dieckmann, managing partner of PROXIMUS ASSET MANAGEMENT, says: "We are delighted to welcome YPOG as another high-profile tenant to the GERLING GARDEN inner-city quarter. This means that we have already achieved almost full occupancy at this stage of the project. The letting shows us that we have created an attractive offering with high-quality office space in a unique listed ensemble in the heart of Cologne's city centre, even in this market phase."

The lease was brokered by BNP Paribas Real Estate GmbH, Cologne.
