Around €12.3 billion in assets is now being managed by Quantums investmentmanagement company (Quantum Immobilien Kapitalverwaltungsgesellschaft mbH), which was founded 20 years ago. Despite challenging market conditions, the company has achieved steady growth in recent years. In the first half of 2025 alone, properties worth around €400 million were acquired. These were spread across five residential deals, three of which were international, and one light industrial purchase.
Twenty years ago, we established the second pillar of our company alongside project development with our investment division. Together, we have been Quantum for over 25 years. We combine expertise and many years of experience in both areas, recognise synergies, and exploit them,” says Philipp Schmitz-Morkramer, founder and CEO of Quantum. He adds: ‘Right from the start, we focused on residential property in the investment division, and this has proven to be the right long-term strategy. We are continuously expanding this in German and European metropolitan regions.'
In addition to its successes in transactions, the company has achieved successful lettings and proactive asset management, with continuous, forward-looking control and optimisation of its real estate portfolios, as well as smooth fund administration processes. Residential properties account for 47% of the assets under management, making them the strongest asset class. This is followed by offices (28%) and retail (14%). Arndt Buchwald, Martin Berghoff, Knut Sieckmann and Matthias Kath-Burdack, the managing directors of Quantum Immobilien KVG, represent the entire team and are responsible for the company's consistent growth over the last few years.
