In the heart of popular Ottensen, around 460 homes were created between Friedensallee and Bahrenfelder Kirchweg in line with Hamburg’s one-third housing mix model. Of these, 161 flats are publicly subsidised, specifically for people on low incomes. In addition, around 1,200 m² of office and commercial space, as well as a café, were created. The site also includes a day nursery for more than 100 children.

Cars are largely kept out of the Max Brauer Quartier itself. Instead, underground car parks with more than 400 spaces are available. A large proportion of these spaces are equipped with charging stations for electric cars. The garages also provide well over 1,000 spaces for bicycles and e-bikes, including charging facilities.

High-quality landscaped green spaces, public walkways through the quarter and a generously sized play area on the central square complete the plans drawn up by the architectural practice Schenk Fleischhaker Architekten. The quarter was fully completed in mid-2025 and is now coming to life.
