12/09/2024 – The construction site for the Berlin P1 project has been at a standstill since autumn 2023. Now something is happening. Quantum will complete the unfinished shell of the building, which was erected on the site of the former KaDeWe car park, for a club of professional pension funds from Berlin. The Hamburg-based project developer and investment manager will realise a mix of modern and high-quality office and retail space in a central city centre location by the beginning of 2027.
"We are delighted to be able to take over and complete the project on behalf of the owner after a months-long break. At this premium location, we focus on quality and sustainability and fulfil the highest requirements in terms of WELL, LEED Platinum and WiredScore Platinum," says Lucius von Bethmann, Chief Representative of Quantum, adding: "In cooperation with all parties involved, we will now reliably continue the project and bring it to a successful finish."
In total, two building sections with around 15,600 m² of office space and 4,750 m² of retail rental space are being built on the approximately 5,200 m² site opposite KaDeWe and as an extension of Tauentzienstraße. The sustainable concept provides for a high-quality and energy-efficient element façade, which is planned for the front building with durable natural stone panels. The property is rounded off by spacious terraces and roof gardens on the striking point tower with views over Berlin. The building will also have its own underground car park with over 500 parking spaces and around 80 electric charging stations. The deepest excavation pit in Berlin to date has been dug for this, and the shell of the building is already in place.
