Quantum is developing a new residential quarter for various tenant groups in Hamburg's HafenCity district. Over 200 apartments as well as commercial and restaurant space with plenty of greenery and water views are being built directly on Baakenhafen.
Hamburg, 26/10/2023 | Quantum is developing a new residential quarter at Baakenhafen in Hamburg's HafenCity on an area the size of three football pitches (approx. 20,500 m²). Purchased a year ago as ‘Jazz’, a place is being created under the name ‘Neuhavn’ where green nature, life on the waterfront and a sense of community combine to create a high-quality neighbourhood worth living in. True to the motto: Live, enjoy, arrive.
A total of 206 modern rental apartments are being built, most of which are publicly subsidised and voluntarily rent-controlled. The diverse neighbourhood is complemented by approx. 3,800 m² of usable space for offices, restaurants and shops, as well as spacious green areas and playgrounds for children. A 600 m² office space has already been leased to a foundation.
Neuhavn meets sustainable and social standards
‘The Neuhavn residential neighbourhood has been awarded the HafenCity Platinum environmental label, the highest certification standard for the region in terms of sustainability. In addition, the entire neighbourhood is being built to Efficiency House Standard 55,’ says Knut Sieckmann, Managing Director of Quantum.
Mobility and accessibility were also taken into account during the planning stage. With its excellent public transport connections, well-developed cycling infrastructure and car-sharing options, this diverse neighbourhood is part of the smart mobility concept for eastern HafenCity. There are almost 500 parking spaces for bicycles in Neuhavn. The building's underground car park offers 80 parking spaces for cars and ten for car sharing.
With modern 2- to 6-room apartments, the Neuhavn project is aimed at people of different age and income groups, especially families. ‘We want to make HafenCity attractive to many tenant groups,’ adds Sieckmann.
Living, working and leisure combined – right on Baakenhafen
The shell of the new residential quarter on Versmannstraße on construction site 84 a+b is currently under construction. Completion is scheduled for the end of 2024. At the same time, additional apartments and workplaces are being built in the neighbourhood, bringing life to the up-and-coming area around Baakenhafen.
Interested commercial tenants can now contact neuhavn-gewerbe@quantum.ag by email. Marketing of the rental apartments is expected to start in April 2024. Advance reservations are not possible.
