On the site of the former “Haus der Metalle” in Düsseldorf-Golzheim, the shell of a new office building has been completed. With the BON5 project, Quantum is creating around 6,000 m² of office rental space that places a special focus on modern working and sustainability. The topping-out ceremony for the new building took place on Tuesday.
The new build at the corner of Am Bonneshof / Wilhelm-Bötzkes-Straße comprises 8 floors and a two-story underground car park. The office spaces can be flexibly divided and adapted by future tenants. Depending on individual requirements, the areas will be fitted out as, for example, cellular offices, group offices, or modern open-plan offices. Large rooftop terraces will also be created on the 4th and 6th floors. The design and planning of BON5 come from the Hamburg-based architects Störmer Murphy and Partners.
“What is special about this task is not only the creation of a new working environment that meets all the flexible requirements of a ‘post-pandemic’ world. Rather, it is the location in Golzheim / Am Bonneshof. A very heterogeneous urban context with a mixed use of offices and apartments, even restaurants. That calls for the right architectural language: self-confident, but at the right volume,” says Martin Murphy, Partner at Störmer Murphy and Partners.
“In terms of sustainability, BON5 leaves nothing to be desired. It is being built as a low-energy building to the KfW 55 standard and will carry the DGNB gold sustainability certificate. Heat for the offices will be supplied via district heating, and large parts of the flat roofs will be greened,” says Frank Bohlander, Managing Director at Quantum.
The project also promotes sustainable mobility: Most of the 69 underground parking spaces will be equipped with EV charging stations. For cyclists, 42 parking spaces will be created, along with showers on every office floor.
Completion is scheduled for the 3rd quarter of 2023. More information for prospective tenants at bonneshof5.de.
